Ali Massey Garden Design and Landscaping specializes in designing and installing outdoor living areas and gardens.
We offer a full design service from concept to installation and work closely with the homeowners to create spaces that are an extension of their tastes and lifestyle. Our outdoor designs include all aspects of outdoor living - entertaining, recreation, plant design, and lighting.
We use design elements such as mature tree specimen, mature plants, trellis and pergola designs, natural stone, brick, tile and poured concrete. In addition, we incorporate planting materials such as decomposed granite and gravel, pots, outdoor rooms and lighting to fit the homeowners needs and visions.
My design discipline focuses on residential landscapes, including small space designs to custom estates and new developments. Plant selection and materials and design are used to create all ranges of styles including contemporary urban landscapes with repeat simple layouts to more structured traditional garden. I am a lifelong gardener, passionate about design, plants and creating beautiful spaces. My personal approach, artistic eye and creativity are fundamental in delivering unique and engaging spaces.
In Southern California, we focus primarily on drought tolerant landscapes with drip irrigation systems. There is a wide range of lush plants that require a small amount of water once established
Our Process
INITIAL CONSULTATION
Once you express interest in creating a garden area for your home, we meet to discuss your space and your vision and what you would like to do with your space.
CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
A full site survey of your property is completed with measurements and CAD drawings are created. I typically create two concepts. The CAD drawing includes a detailed design including a plant plan and hardscape plans as needed.
Lighting plans are completed once the plant and hardscape plans are solidified.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Once the plan is finalized, to make sure the plan is installed with the highest standards, I work with a team for plant and irrigation installation and hardscape installation. I will be involved throughout the installation process including sourcing and selecting the plants and placing the plants in the garden.
